This is an interesting story. I think I missed his connection to the Dominican Republic:

Is his father Dominican, or why did his Swiss mother cook Dominican food for him in Switzerland?

As a gastronomer I'm curious. Also, my mother's side of the family is Dominican and I was raised there in my early youth - piquing my curiosity further.

There is a typo there, thanks for pointing it out. His mother is Dominican (and father Swiss).
